Abstract |
The Ministry of Public Health and the Fight Against AIDS (MSPLS) implemented the first edition of the Service
Availability and Readiness Assessment (SARA) survey in 2017, with technical support from the World Health Organization
(WHO). The SARA 2017 survey's purpose was to provide regular and reliable information on the progress and performance of the health system. The overall objective of the SARA 2017 was to regularly assess the provision of services (availability and operational capacity) and to conduct data verification in public and private facilities.
The survey covered 89 hospitals (44 public, 33 private, 4 denominational and 8 associative), 4 faith-based and 8 association-based) and 125 health centers (68 public, 39 private, 16 faith-based and 2 associative) distributed in all the districts of the provinces.
