The survey on mapping of supply of health services in the Centre region, Burkina Faso was conducted by the Directorate
General of Health Information and Statistics (DGISS) with technical and financial support from the World Health
Organization (WHO). It is a snapshot of the supply of health services that has made it possible to identify health facilities and to assess their characteristics in terms of personnel, services, equipment, and quality of their services. The objective of the survey was to conduct a comprehensive review of health services including national standards related to logistics, personnel, basic equipment, drugs and to make the results and data available to the Ministry of Health, donors and other users.
A census of health facilities, pharmacies and laboratories was conducted between December 2009 and January 2010.
This report presents results on general characteristics of the facilities (typology, general capacity, location, etc.), services and staff available, and means of treating emergencies and risks of infection. |
